Oh man, oh man....

by Edward Oropeza   Sep 30, 2012

Oh man, Oh man,
Who are you? That God is mindful to you,
You are a little less than an angel,
You have nothing to give to God,
And God have nothing to get from you,
You cannot make miracles of your own,
You cannot even stop your death,
Yet you are so proud,
proud of your substantial wisdom,
proud of your strength,
You don't know how foolish you are,
Angels despise you, they can't even understand
how foolish you are.

Yet in your very nature,
the very God dwelt in you,
But you did not understand what it meant.

Until the very day, your faculties opened up,
then you will know how fool and weak you are!

And God have nothing to get from you,

    - have should be has.

You don't know how fool you are,

    - fool = foolish, or reword the sentence to read: you don't know what a fool you are.

    how fool you are.

    - same thing for the fool word here, it has to be a fool, or foolish.

    Yet in your very nature,
the very God dwelt in you,
But you did not understand what it means.

    - dwelt, and did not understand = both past tense, where as "means" is present, so I would change it to meant to belong in the past too.

then you will know how fool and weak you are

    - fool = foolish or what a fool.

I think this poem could have 2 meanings - a poem to another human being, perhaps someone who thinks they are powerful and better than God.. or it could be taken to mean a poem to yourself, if the mood is low, to compare yourself to God, to show that you are worthless. Which we have all had this conversation of worth to our self.

That was my take on it.
