Beating Us Down

by MyHalozChokinMe   Sep 30, 2012

We sit in therapy and therapy becomes beautiful because we're beaten down. Down by the lies and the beliefs and the oil dripping, slippery, southern-talk that we engorged down our throats.

Our ignorance is an epidemic, so much bigger and badder than AIDS, more toxic than air pollution. It's super-sized, democratized, packaged up and sold with fries. Yes, my love, it is a new age.

It's the age where corruption is breath, as breath is corruption and presidents are Gods. As Gods, well, Gods don't care.

We preach hatred, from Mecca to Jerusalem, in mosques, in schools, in plaid skirts and penny-loafers. We preach it, devour it, and we're going down.

So I say, America, down with animosity, down with the scorn, down with the malice that leaves our country torn. We are a divided nation, broken by our superficial ideas that feed and grow like fat black leeches in the swamp of ignorance. They'll suck us dry you know, and the skeleton of America will sink down.

This is, and will be our own tsunami, our own Depression, our own weapon of mass destruction, our own atomic bomb, a disaster so much more gargantuan and colossal than any genocide-

EVER.

We will be our defeat America, and the fists of heaven will smile down upon us, killing us, destroying us, beating us down.

OMG!! GO yourself!! This is so passionate and strong and holds so much issues and society problems. I could go on and on about my opinions of it all and how well you have expressed some of these in here. Excellent idea for a poem and I sense it felt good to let this out.
