Light-born Monstrosity

by Crimsonxheart   Sep 30, 2012

I am only as much as my emptiest part
Where the cold, brittle fragments remain of my heart

Where I cry and I plead to an absent sky
As I lay down and hope that soon I'll start to die

For falling to hell is so much better you see
Than to live in the prison that's made just for me

A short glass room, all surrounded in light
For only a fool thinks the dark causes fright

Having nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
That's what really kills someone inside

Shivering, shaking, exposed to the world
Under the pressure a shape is unfurled

The monster you're destined to be comes alive
And soon your so-late white knight will arrive

But wait, what's this, he's drawing his sword
Slashing and stabbing, the one he once adored

You scream from inside, that the monster is you
But it is no use, there's nothing to do

The light has contorted and changed you so
There's only room left for the darkness to grow

You've become a monster, just like me
Join me in hell, where all good monsters flee
