9/11

*I wrote this poem while watching a video of people falling from the Twin Towers Buildings 11 years ago. I started crying and this was created*

If I yelled at you this morning,
I'm sorry.
If didn't say I love you today,
I'm sorry.

If I was late for lunch,
I'm sorry.
And if I didn't kiss you goodnight,
I'm sorry.

If I went to work when you begged me not to,
I'm sorry.
And If I jumped off the building,
I'm sorry.

I did not mean to leave you alone,
I did not mean to make you cry,
Believe me I regret not kissing you goodbye.
I'm sorry sweetheart but they didn't give us a choice.
I had to make that jump, hoping to see you again.

People are looking at us, hanging from the windows.
They are screaming and crying, they're shocked
we don't know what to do, it's getting hard to breathe
and I take a moment to think of our family
and how I didn't tell you how much I love you
before I left home.

I'm so sorry I'm so sorry, I have to go
I can't breathe anymore, people keep jumping
to escape the flames and they all disappeared.
I'm gonna miss you darling, tell the kids I love them
and daddy's sorry for not keeping his promise
to always be there to protect and keep them safe.

How I wish I had listened to you and stayed,
I would see my angels' faces when I came back home
and my lovely wife whom I'll always adore.

If tomorrow starts without me, don't feel alone
for daddy is watching over you from above.

And if I didn't kiss you goodnight,
I'm deeply sorry.
