Worthy

Worth more...
Than a couple
Stolen Moments
Soon to be dismissed.
Worth more...
Than the
Bittersweet Nothings,
Whispered into the night's
Fatal Shadows.
Worth more...
Than
Drunken Phone Calls
and mishap encounters....
Half-delusional
Empty
Collisions of Bodies
Soon to be forgotten or
Never Remembered
A submissive,
No slave,
To the
Fear
Of emotional
Intimacy.
An irony in itself.
But in the tangle of bodies and
Emptiness...
Loud and daunting emptiness...
In the
Deep Abyss
That is my
Tattered soul
A sliver of
Light
is seen.
A glimmer of
Hope...
Strong enough
To sway me.
Smart enough
To talk reason to my stubborn inner being.
Beautiful enough
To make me believe
I am worth more...
I will no longer settle;
No longer be enslaved;
No longer be blinded by fear.
I
KNOW
MY
WORTH.
I AM WORTHY.
