Immortalizing

by Yakari Gabriel   Oct 4, 2012

Not all feelings call for poetry
some of them are meant
to be savored, enjoyed
without the fear of it
becoming immortal

but what I feel for you,
is worth cutting the kiss
halfway, to go write
what it felt like

you're another deal
and what I feel for you
I will write down because
its something I wanna
captivate again, again
and again.

when I re-read my pieces.

*sigh* you do this all the time to me. You say stuff, and Im like this stuff needs made public. These quotes need published.

Yaki, Im quite jealous I never thought to write something so genuinely true like this. I often write things as well just so I can go back and reread them to remember. Its like a poets way of taking a picture.

Youre opening stanza was such an eye opener for writers really. Youre right. Not all things need written down, who wants to remember the sad stuff? We should write more often of the times we want to savor and want to revisit.

I loved the lines about cutting the kiss. Again something I can relate to. To be wrapped up in a moment and you just want to cut it short and go write about it.

Loved loved loved this. Very beautiful mami :)
