Silence

by NineteenMinutes   Oct 5, 2012

On the surface we seem happy
I can smile on que
I laugh at jokes I don't understand
Stare adoringly towards you
Hold your hand when walking
And even though I
Cannot abide the friends you have
I supress my urge to sigh
We sit in mirrowed positions
Kiss each other softly with glee
On the surface we seem happy
Like we live in harmony
But behind the curtains
When the eyes turn away
We stare at each other blankly
Confused as what to say
So instead of forced conversation,
I stare of into space
You sit there glumly
With a sad look on your face
When did we stop talking?
I've forgotten the last time I tried
Or when you last asked a question
And I replied
We lay there in complete silence
Which the TV tries to fill
But the silence keeps on talking
Saying the things wenever will.
