No Friend of Mine

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 7, 2012

I am no friend to love.

I owe her nothing.

She has shown me many things,
all of them painful.

Cruel I would paint her
if I were the artist of the
canvas of life.

Scornful and mocking.

A bottle full of vinegar for
those who thirst for
her refreshment.

Empty would I build her
domicile if I were the
carpenter of life.

Hollow and uninhabitable.

A hotel full of poison dreams
for those who long for
her fulfillment.

Ashamed I would be if I
were the inventor of such
a horrid monster.

Two-faced and untrustworthy.

A chapel full of lies and discontent
for those who foolishly
worship her.

I am no friend to love.

I owe her nothing.

Ohh, this was very creative, I loved the metaphors and the way you used so many things to describe this emotion. What love has done for you and taught you and how you have given up on it because of the pain you have gone through in the past.

Another great poem, great word choice, I would love to steal the dictionary in your head!
