Slowly, but Surely, Mending

by Owner of an Untamed Heart   Oct 7, 2012

Move on, they say
It's just a chapter in your book
But don't close it
Just turn the page
Forget him, they say
As if my heart can just block him
As if my soul can just detach from his
After a couple of days

He was the first to imprison my heart
The first guy to ever catch my eye
The first one to make me smile so hard
The first to press his lips against mine
I didn't how strong love could be
Until it was the first time
That I realized that love
Wasn't something to be reckoned with

A glacial fire stings in my pores
When he'd brush lightly against me
That feeling that I would adore
He promised not to make me cry
But here they are
The tears streaming down my face
I guess he didn't commit enough
To keep up the vows that he made

He was the first to hold my hand
The first one that touch lightened up my dreams
The first guy to every understand
That I won't change my colors for anybody
But time has passed, and so have us
It couldn't keep up what our differences
Our love story has finished
I hate to think that it was the end

To you, I wish the distance between us
Hadn't torn up what was inside
If I ever see you again in life
I sure hope that it'll treat you just fine
There's no need to worry about me
Cause with the tears I've cried
I've grown stronger from your decision
So, this is goodbye...
