Lifelines

by Thomas   Oct 7, 2012

It's been so many years
since you took the elevator down
into the dark and misty depths of the earth
I was small, not even conscious
not aware of the grief and pain around me
Years later I finally realize
and start noticing things around me
No one says your name
No person tells your story
All that is left is the picture,
the one standing on my shelf
All that remains is a memory,
a memory that I stored in the back of my mind
Of those scarce moments that we spend
in that period of time
where our lifelines intertwined
But I fear that even this
won't stand the test of time

Thomas this story seems to speak about a child that has lost his parent in death and that no one seems to be concern about this child's feelings, all the while this poor little boys missing his mom. Full of emotions and grief..nicely expressed.
