In Monochromes (chained Senryu's)

by Meme   Oct 9, 2012

Hues of burgundy
lushly brushing the cheeks of
an October's sun.

As my fingertips
caress every line that made
your face -just your face.

You hold still letting
me drink the silence of your
liquid hazel eyes.

And you know I want
more, and you know I need more.
You were it; my all.

As the wind plays with
my hair, I hear a sigh but
you don't say a word.

The sun sets and I
steal an image of us in
hues of burgundy.

:( I hate reading poems about losing people it breaks my heart in half. Its such a terrible feeling to go through whether it be lost love or death....

But despite the sadness, I love this meme. You don't see the color burgundy used much in poetry, I've only used it once myself but I love the color, and love how it described an Octobers sun.. that was beautiful..

Loving the attempt on chained senryus. This was excellent. :)
