Iterated Patterns (Tanka)

by Meme   Oct 10, 2012

You come and ask me
what difference does it make?
But what you don't see
is the pattern you take. One
step at a time; then you're gone!

The patterns of a love that has come and gone... This Tanka is uniquely crafted and really says allot more than meets the eye. Each time I've read this piece leaves me speechless. It allowed me to feel from start to finish of a love walking closer and then leaving abruptly....

"One step at a time; then you're gone!"

I can't say enough about this poem, it left me feeling sadness and it's a very emotional piece!

Truly a remarkable Tanka! Very nice~

This is so immaculate and the flow is breathtaking. One won't realise its a tanka if not from the notice. Its such a sad message that radiates in this short but deep poem.

We let others get to us that it gradually turn us into a horrible entity we can't accept or identify with. Mostly what cause such feelings is the means to portray your emotions to the other subject correctly. It can be parent to a child. A staff to a fellow staff. A husband to a wife and vice versa. A lover to a lover. Its just a circle of our living in which we go about it always. The quintessence of this intense pack of emotion that causes a feeling of remorse at the end; is nothing but the lack of patience to make it an obligation to convey our feelings correctly. Without causing any hitch but such is just not been conformed to. Such should be refurbished before it degenerates to a level of 'one step at a time then you're gone'. I love that line, it just speaks volumes without saying alot at a first glance. You have to read it again to grasp how deeply the message is rooted.

One may still be residing with the person but not necessarily in soul and thoughts but just body. You may have long pushed that person away due to your attitude. If there's another reason for such apart from the latter. Then it should be discussed on, thus reaching a solution. Lets always try and create a breeding ground in which both parties can benefit from. That can ensure a peaceful interaction without flaws.

Executed lovely. Enjoyed reading this and the message it carries is strong. Bon Travail! :-) ..
