I like how the first stanza, (in my mind, of course,) set the tone for what I was about to read:
"I face the demise of looking into
a mirror and seeing the breakdown
of a woman who hides within the trees"
(The trees was a dead give away btw :P)
I don't want to break down any of this poem, I think each stanza accomplished what it needed to. The reader knows exactly what you meant to say and for me, each pulled emotion from me.
I think you're an inspiration to writers, and most probably an inspiration to those who are lucky enough to have you in their lives.
"I'll always know
I'm a precious soul, because I've lived
to write this poem and what it takes
to have the guts to share it."
You my dear, have more guts than I. =)
I'll end my rambling and leave with this:
This was a solid piece, and only increased the admiration that I've developed towards your poems and you as a woman, thank you for sharing.
Well done Maple for this win, you really put it all into this which is really brave of you because I know you like hiding some parts of you and your life.
I love how you took this challenge and made this from it. Well done and I hope you felt great after writing this and sharing it.
