Eyes of grey ice

by nightmaRs chaOs   Oct 11, 2012

I look into those eye
those eyes of grey ice
they hold a story that plays out before me
the squeak of a rocking chair
the roar of a fire
grandkids laughing at their grandfather
then it goes blank and white fuzz appears
the booming of being attacked
people yelling to go underground
houses burning everywhere
once again the story goes blank
a new scene appears
family members reuniting
while others mourn the death of loved ones
thirty years skip ahead to present day
where I am standing in front of those eyes
not too long ago those eyes held color and energy
now they have grown weak and are carrier of stories
those eyes of grey ice
those eyes of a soldier
those eyes of my grandfather
