To Whom Might Care

by lyssa marcotte   Oct 18, 2012

The things I say
and the things I do,
they're the mistakes I make
but I don't really mean to.

People say you're perfect,
of course all in your own way.
It's not like that,
especially today.

I lose what's good
and I gain what's bad.
I try to be me,
but sometimes it's so hard, makes me go mad,

The things I say
and the things I do,
they're the mistakes mistakes I make
I promise I don't really mean to,

I try to be me,
but it's really not that easy.
I'm not always the greatest I could be,
and sometimes that makes me uneasy.

The life I live
isn't always the best,
I try to live to the fullest but
it's harder than it seems, who would've guessed?

The things I say
and the things I do
aren't always the best.
But it's time to push through.

I'm not
that girl over there,
I am me,
to whom might care,

I can't be someone you want,
I'm only me and if you cannot accept
a fact like that, then I'm not changing for you nor anyone else.
I'm me and I'm well kept.

Another poem I wrote when I was 12, edited by 17 year old me.
