I've tried to comment on this about 3 times so far and I just end up rambling and getting emotional and this deserves a relatively sane comment but forgive me for my ways at the moment...

I had a dream
about you two nights ago

^^Well, you started this off really interestingly, I am so used to read "I had a dream last night",so for you to add that it was two nights ago is refreshing...and then of course it shows how vivid it was that you can still remember it now.

and my
memory could whisk me back to the smell
of Summer resting peacefully on your
left shoulder.

^^Again, you added a description here, it was particular that you used left shoulder and I wonder why?

I saw you holding me again. Fairuz
was on the TV, a Lebanese evening
of damp streets and drowsy trees
was sung outside.

^^I feel this part was good in description of the setting yet that last line sounded a bit off to me, "sung" doesn't fit or maybe it should be "were sung", anyhow imagery was fantastic

Outside,
there were people hurrying
to their somewheres and
the air so fresh and so quiet
outside.

^^^The overuse of "outside", it was too much...like three times, I felt it too repetitive

I glanced at your blue shirt
that you always loved to wear while hunting.
Its buttons were scattered and lost and
getting old, like all dreams.

^^That is lovely, the description of him and the use of buttons, it was creative and beautiful

Our eyes wandered Beirut; nameless
pavements and wishes and plazas and kids
that make you feel as though
it's Christmas.

A clear sky, a happy God,
a thought of you cooking
your favourite meal... It
was Christmas.

^^^I am not looking forward to christmas this year, just this whole time is hard for me, the months from october until new year always are...but I see for you it means something

I had a dream about
you a while back and I so
hated it that the morning had to drop in.
Tire was skulked under my eyelids
like a hopeless patient and I guess I stared
till weeping before I got up but it was worth falling asleep for.

^^^I like the contrast, as if now you are a few weeks forward and the dream is still fresh but it happened longer than the two nights previously said.

Noura, I think this piece is beautiful, I want to be able to leave some sort of message, something that sticks with you but I can't...I want to be able to comment my true thoughts about this piece, I love it and my interpretations don't really fit that but I am just a bit lost right now and I don't know how else I can comment this piece because it deserves much more than what I can give right now
