Say You Will

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 21, 2012

I don't need you to hold my hand
or sing me to sleep. I know loneliness
too well to fall back on your comfort.

I know pain and abandonment so you can
hang me out to dry but I'll never bleed.

Just say that you will...

For that momentary relief, make me feel
like trusting you, giving you everything.

Push me away from my comfort zone so I
am no longer numb.

I've got a thousand memories for every
one of yours.

I have dreams as thick as steel and trust built on glass...

So, hurt me if you have to-

I won't feel a thing.

Or, love me, if you're able, and I'll try to do the same.

I really liked this one because it is exactly how I feel most of the time. When you have been through some of the things we have and have been given bad experiences which should have been good, it leaves you mistrusting anything good at all.

The way you have worded it here is very powerful and shows that you are a loving person but have your own insecurities about being loved back too. And so all you ask is that they treat you right and show you love and you will do the same back which is harder for us than it is for them.

    My fave line is :

So, hurt me if you have to-

    I won't feel a thing.

    - I adore this because this is my defence I put up all the time, I disconnect myself from love and recieving it and being close to others to protect myself from being hurt again. So I won't ever feel that pain again, but learn to maybe feel the love.

    Loved this one <3
