Bullet between the eyes

by Dark Secrets   Oct 22, 2012

Watch my face,
as it morphs into
your wife's, your daughter's, your sister's
... and shoot

Watch my husband's features
assemble into
your uncle's, your father's, your brother's
... and shoot

Watch my baby's smile,
fade and replace the curves
that once filled the face of your own
... and shoot

We do not fear
the smell of gunpowder,
nor are we startled from its sound.

For we have always known
that life on earth is but a state
and death is but a portal
to another dimension of life

So look deeply into the pupils
of our eyes,
and catch a glimpse of
everlasting happiness
lying between the shine
... and shoot

I DARE YOU!
Shoot without a conscience...

    Fantastic, Zahra....
    so visual.
    and moving...
    heartbreaking, too...
yet, there were hope between those eyes as you said 'death is a port...'

    Awesome!

Zahra, I felt this poem was really strong, it was one of those poems that someone can read and be touched by, I was.
It is terrible that these things happen in our world, where people are murdered and killed for just no reason at all, whether it be callous and cold blooded, or during war between countries...

This piece is really and truly special, it is simple yet so strong and powerful and that is just a gem to read
