Homeland

by Jack Nightengale   Oct 26, 2012

It was quiet that night,
But different, not the same.
Everything was wrong, nothing was right
It was like the spooky scene from a movie or a video game

Bang! Bang!
Two shots from within as I fall back,
Wipping my hands over my wounds only to temporarily distract.

Bang! Bang!
Two more shots and my blood paints the wall,
Starring at the wounds and to my knees I fall.

Bang! Bang! BOOM!
Now an open cavity,
Wondering to myself, who would do this to me?
And out walks my heart with pistol and a grenade pin in hand,
Slowly dragging me into the darkness, it's old homeland.
