Suffocating all
positivism, the
night I realized
how much I have
lost within this life.

- such a sad and powerful opening Maple, it is a very despairing time to be in this position and feel complete and under defeat fromt he world because you feel it has took from you the most precious things. Suffocating is such a powerful word and we all have this image of what it means so when it is followed by the positivity this clearly shows how crushed you felt.

Stood alone,
within a daydream,
hallucinating tween
right and wrong,
craving a rush
of forgiveness
to whisk me away.

- great imagery of day dreaming here - although again it seems so sad because normally day dream would be fun and filled with things we hope and wish for and are thinking of, but this seems more of a sad and lonely dream perhaps of these things you have lost and do not wish to live without anymore.

Sands of time
engulf a lost aura,
leaving pocketful's
of fire, facing Demon's that
can devour a shadow,
to the point of extinction.

-Wow. This is your little bit of darkness in your poem, I thought this was very clever because you added so much into this short little verse but the stronger image you are left with is this powerful demon who can consume almost anything and make it non existant. It really relates to the power of loss in itself, as this is how it feels to lose something, the depression and grief takes over so that we feel nothing will be ok anymore.

Gusts of hot wind
parch an innocent
thought,
cracked lips etched
with guilty tears,
leave me dangling,
near a river of hope.

- What I got from this most was the guilty tears, perhaps fromt he previous thoughts of the day dream, you felt guilty of even thinking them. I relate to this part because I have often thought about things or even simply being with those who are no longer here and feel so fuilty for not thinking of the people I still have. The hopelessness you feel at the end is so deep like you will be forever in this position, dangling with no way up nor down.

Burning desires
scorch hollow iris's
to the point of death,
I've grown far to weary

to drink now....

- Burning desires scorch hollow iris's - what I got from this was that what you see and desire you know you cannot have and the pain from that burns your eyes and right through to your heart and soul leaving you feeling completely lost and dead inside to know you can never have this.

The weary part could relate to the fact this has all tired you out and you do not wish to carry on thinking this way because it consumes you. The other part I got was that when you feel so depressed and lonely this way it can seem too muche ffort to even hydrate yourself with water and therefor if you do not drink you will die. So for me this says you were at a point where you were too tired to live like that anymore.

Such a powerful poem Maple, I took a lot from this little one. <3

From the title right to the ending this poem is deep...if you care to scratch the surface...wonder why there are no comments to date?

I love the thought of hallucinating between right and wrong...much better than just thinking about the possibility I think....nice one here! I wonder whether it should be 'tween....I know that's how it used to be presented back in the day haha!!!!

Best stanza IMO...simple because...you provoked a thought of the sand being blow by the wind and changing all that was once there.. creating a new picture...that's what came to my mind anyway?
