Gone

by Alice   Oct 30, 2012

One day I asked the sky
To take me along.

He'd be alone up there
He wouldn't know anyone.

"No," it answered. For I was wrong.
"He'll be with God, singing angel songs."

"But what about me?" I asked.
"I'm down here with no one."

"Find hope," said sky to me.
"He's still here, you here is what he wants."

And so now, I speak to you.
And say these words, proud and true:

They are never really gone, but here instead.
In a wonderful dreamland.

I love you Grandpa, and Cousin Joe. I miss you. R.I.P.
