Chance

by Edgar Jones   Oct 31, 2012

I stand here waiting for your reply
Foolishly expecting a quick "hi"
Truth is, you walked out on me
Hurts to know you let me be
The side I hid all this time
The portal to help me unwind,
While it's true I needed emotion
You were repelled by my lack of devotion
I only have myself to blame
Thinking emotions were just a game
I hope one day you respond
But for now, you are gone

You are good with rhymes, they seem to come easily for you. I also like the constant tone of the emotion in this piece. Second chances exist . . . What I understood is that you didn't give this person the time or the attention that this someone needed... so this someone left.

Overall, I like how it is written.
