Opprobrious

by X Harlea X   Nov 1, 2012

She walks by already shaking from abuse.
Battered and broken; just no use.
Insulted and horrified by their vile words,
She's slowly fragmenting by thirds.

Where can she escape their abusive nature?
Will it ever end?

She sits alone praying for a better ending.
One that isn't so mind bending.
Where one day she'll have someone
who understands what she's been through.

Will she always be insulted?
There doesn't seem to be a stop.

Sneaking away to go lay alone,
where sleep grabs her and answers are shone.
Forever is here destiny.
Forever in the place where she is opprobrious.

    She's slowly fragmenting by thirds

^ such a sad statement to make because thats exactly how much people feel, when theyve been beaten so much (literally or not) their heart is no longer ripped in half, but by thirds.....

    Will she always be insulted?

^ this shows its continuous which is what breaks people down so much, the fact that they feel stuck, that theyve accepted that theyll always be abused and they have to deal with it..

You did a great job with your word! :)

I had been wondering who the other person was that chose this word!!!!

While this poem is incredibily sad, I thought it was a good write.
There were pieces that I really related to, that pulled at me a little

    "She's slowly fragmenting by thirds"

In my mind, while reading this, I was thinking "exactly." Such a good description of being broken down.

    Thanks for sharing Harlea...
