Only you (Tyburn)

by Khalid M Darwish   Nov 2, 2012

Mirror
Hearer
Nearer
Dearer
Whomever I mirror, hearer to
will remain the nearer, dearer You

* A Tyburn poem is a six line poetic form where the first four lines consist of just a single two syllabled word each that all rhyme. The last two lines are nine syllables where the fifth to eighth syllables are the words from the first four lines.

This is my 1st trial for a Tyburn and I'll appreciate your comments, votes and critiques as well.

Khalid I love this form, one I have never tried, I will do soon though...(probably in the next ten mins!!)

Okay, great attempt but in line 5, I don't think the word 'hearer' works.

    That is my only niggle

I would change hearer for 'mirror'

    then write as so;

    Mirror
    clearer
    Dearer
    Nearer
    Whomever I mirror, clearer to
will remain the nearer, dearer You

just my suggestion it is your poem after all.
