My Dream Became My Reality

This poem was for a club challenge, never had time to finish it till now xD, it's long but please enjoy...

With our friendship coming to a shamble
Next on the list would be our precious heart
Which I knew would be a victim and crumble
Recalling the years together yet it still fell apart

Couldn't help the fact it had to end, me and you
Destiny had other plans, which didn't involve the either of us
I manage to crack your heart ever so slightly and
If it were left unattended, it would only spread

Saying farewell and wishing you happiness with whomever you're with
Couldn't find it in my heart to say goodbye to you
Despite not being friends, those words were taboo
And deep down, I'll always care even if I had to let you go

Years passed and I catch word that you are hospitalized
Curious as what might have happened to you
Praying that it wasn't something life-threatening
Unfortunately my worst fear became a reality

Your last boyfriend did you so wrong
Putting a major strain on your precious heart
Causing you to faint and putting you into a coma
Unlike Snow White, you wouldn't wake up from a true love kiss

Realizing that crack years ago spread around your heart
Causing it to crystalize into fragile ice crystals
Awaiting just the slightest heartbreak
Cascading your heart into the depths of the ocean

Your sister who always known I love you so truly
Blamed me for letting you go and not trying hard enough
Surely enough she was right about everything...
Ultimately I knew I was at fault and had to take responsibility

Days later she wakes up after a successful surgery
The heart complications were taken care of
She didn't have to worry about fainting or dying
Relieved that she could finally live a normal life

Asking the doctor of how she came to be
Saying that luckily there was a victim that was a donor
Which matched every characteristics of your heart
And was a perfect match for a replacement

Family and friends were all around
Happy to see her back in their life
As she recovered within the hospital
Old friends and ex's came to visit wishing her a fast recovery

Weeks later she receives a letter with no address
Written by hand was only her name on the envelope
This ominous feeling overwhelm her as she open it
Carefully pulling the letter out, she unfolds it

Clueless as to whom wrote this yet the
Tears were forming with every word she read
Scared to finish the letter but she forced herself to and
The damn that held her tears finally broke as she read

"I left you heart broken last time
And thus I must apologize for that
I wanted to make amends with you
The only way I could...

Told you I'd die for you if the day would come
My heart and soul was ready for this day
Whether we were together or not
Giving my life so you could live on...

I had a heart and it was true
But now it's gone from me to you
So take care of it as I have done
For you have two and I have none

Always dreamt that we be together
Though physically not there
Only in heart will I ever see my
Dream become a reality...

So God, will you take care of her
Comfort her, and protect her...
Until that day we meet again...
Let her know...My Heart...is beating with hers..."

Tears assailed the letter as it came to an end
Crying out in agony, knowing there was none other
Who'd gave up their heart to let her live
Besides the one person that really cared...me
