Wading

I have no idea if I have ever read any of your poems before but I was completely blown away when I read this. The simplicity, yet deep and meaningful impact of this poem is very good. I loved the metaphors throughout this poem as you make your true intentions known to this person and how that you were never wishing pain or hurt but just wanting them to realize they are not in your life or perhaps you want them to realize you will be okay since this bound has been severed. Maybe even you are trying to reassure yourself this is where you want to be and that you wish for them to be set free and understand your wishes. I might be reading too deep or perhaps not enough. Just my little interpretation. ;]

"Float along realizations shore.
Find inspiration in clarified waves.
Drown in guilty temperatures.

Then I'll finally enjoy
being left in the shallow end."

Your ending was really good and I loved all the metaphoric illustrations you tied into this last stanza, as you have in each of the previous stanzas, but this one stood out more to me. Your imagery is also really clear and paints a vivid picture for the person reading. You also have a strong emotion of moving on and trying to make the person realize all will be alright in the end.

Overall, I am completely blown away and I believe this is a great poem and I hope to read more by you. You write with a maturity that is not seen to often and your words hold a lot of power and emotion. I hope you continue to grow as a poet. Great job and keep writing!!

I wish to unveil the metaphors
I construed in my head that'd reveal
the accuracy of my coded love for you,
but I'm afraid you won't decipher it.

^^^Metaphors are difficult things aren't they?, we take ages with them, getting them right and people take ages and ages trying to figure them out and interpret them...I loved the whole like secret code thing here, it was really a nice touch, a nice start...

Instead, I'll watch you wade in crystal clear
words that swim in the river I call
my sanctuary.

^^^And then the way you added the nature, the imagery, of the water and you swimming, I can imagine you in a polka dot costume or something, LOL, I also like how you described your sanctuary as a river, ride, and deep.

Open your eyes under water
and when salt does not itch your
pupils, scratch your head in bewilderment.

^^^Now I can sort of go WOW and thats all that I can say, seriously, this part just was so strong, so creative

Understand my intentions
were to never hurt you, danger you.

^^^I love how you talk about the river in this way, drawing on what I said about it being wide and deep and cold!

^^^Now this ending, made me smile slightly, because I cannot swim and Im always in the shallow end when I go to the pool, I don't do skinny dipping i'm afraid..:) But this also ended on the note that you can get over him, you can and you will, it may take time, but you'll see in the end.

Chelsey, you just are amazing, and anyone will tell you that, who needs some guy to tell us they love us, just love yourself and know who loves you for you
