Sometimes we write and then we feel it needs something extra, like we are not comfortable with the rawness of a poem...I am curious as to why number 23 haunts you like it does, but I also feel a sadness that it inhibits your mind the way it does...

Sometimes number's mean something, they are relevant to us in a way nobody can understand...
I think this poem is good, definitely not one of your best but it still has depth and curiosity within it...

I think the repetition of "It's just a number" is too much in this piece, maybe only using one instead of two couplets like this, or limit it to a single line at the start and end would work better, just a suggestion though

Do you know what I can sadly relate to this because I have issues with the number 28, and how you describe that it is just a number ( how many other people will also see it ) but in our head it is so much more, it is a curse that may cause bad things to happen to ourselves or to the ones we love. It becomes obsession to notice the numbers and by trying to ignore it or forget them we think about it even more!

I like how you used the gun here, it is very true a gun is harmless and really is just a gun until the bullets are added to it and someone unresponsible takes it into their hands. This was a very good way to express how you felt about this!

Great write and I am glad you shared it!

My favourite number is 4 and I have issues with 13 maybe because it is number of The Death in Tarot cards.I also feel uncomfortable with some other numbers.Really liked your piece.

People have different fears and phobias, it's not "just a number" to you... just like it's not "just a spider" to someone who fears spiders. I hate when people say things like that, lol.

I like the metaphor of the gun, it's so true. A gun is harmless, just a piece of metal until you add the bullets. Also, it's not the gun who is dangerous, it's the person who holds the gun.

    Very interesting piece!
