Something.

by Stephanie   Nov 8, 2012

Gray on white, white on black, black on gray,
meshing, colliding into streams of confusion.
Light yellows and blues and pink rays,
dotted amongst the shadows, armed for war.
Trembling fingertips, rage dripping face,
truth and lies merged, baby, please, no.
a heart filled with the world, shamed with grace -
running from the beast, given no place.
Fury pounds and it pounds and it storms,
and it shatters and submerges the disillusioned view.
And the sun peaks, gently tiptoes into my sight -
for only a matter of seconds, earth-breaking seconds.
Why can't you just stay for a little while?

November 7, 2012.
Stephanie Lynn.

This is my first poem in an extremely long time - no judging. :)
