I long for peace.

My walls are crumbling,
defeated under constant attacks
of cannonballs of self-hate and stress.
All I ask for is peace, a moment of
truth to light up my life.
All I need is some answers
that won't fall like fine sand
through my fingertips.
Something tangible I can
mold in my hands,
shape into some form of
love and honor for myself.

I'm drowning.
These relentless waves keep
pulling me under.
I use all my might, fight back,
pushing towards the lighthouse
illuminating the sea,
but there's water in my lungs
and I'm growing weak.
I just wish for vanishing storm clouds.
I dream of the sun shining on me,
birds singing songs of joy.
