Plain Jane

by Emmanuel Pineda   Nov 8, 2012

Brain wrapped in chains
And tears rain.
Blood boiled veins
Dying to drain.

Pail blotchy skin
And fragile frame.
Jane walks through school
And anger builds and reigns.

Anger from parents cruel distain
From dreams of a boy
They never could obtain.

Mentally broken,
But tries to maintain,
Jane dreams of lights,
People's cheers and fame.

She hungers for love
And a life free from shame
And parents who praise
Never beat or complain.

So tonight...

They're ashes will burn
And fill our lonely lane
With the light of a match
That turns gas into flames.

Stories will come
About how Jane's insane
And how I was found
outside sipping champaigne.

Let them come
And witness my gain;
They'll talk of a girl
Who's not so lame or plain.

Lights will shine
And peoples shouts of blame,
but blame will drought
And I will hear my name.

Jane... Jane... Jane...
