Remember to Learn to Forget

by Brown Eyed Girl   Nov 8, 2012

Remember when the sun would shine?
When we were still fine
I think about it all the time
All the obstacles we had to climb
To get to where we are today
It hardly seems worth what we had to pay
I can't look at you
Our memories haunting me as they do
When we were kids we had no worry
But now all we have to say is sorry
Somewhere along the line I lost you
The gap between us only grew
Until we were so far apart
I know it in my heart
That I could never reach you
No matter how hard I tried, you'd slip through
My fingers as I grasped
It almost seemed like you'd passed
It's hopeless to linger on what's gone
It's hard to discard what took so long
Dammit this feels so wrong
I need to learn to forget
Every memory a hard hit
If you only tried
Dammit I never lied
Why can't you see the wedge
That's making me bed
You to come back to me
This isn't how it was supposed to be
I'm on my knees
Begging you please
Come back to me...
