Overcast

by Chelsey   Nov 9, 2012

If only between the mornings thunder and the
harsh goodbye that day, could I have fought
harder for what use to be worth fighting for.
It rained so loud neither of us could hear
the sound of communication...

Admit it, we were selfish and looking for
a way to stay clear of the storm. A storm
that we could have controlled the pressure of.

When the clouds reflect an evil color, darkening
my shadow even more, I am reminded of
you.

Reminiscing of the moment we sealed our fate.
Remembering what your electrifying words
did to my soul.

I definitely have an overcast in my life! Ugh. I know EXACTLY what you mean here.

LOVE the third stanza... seriously amazing.

Also really like "remembering what your electrifying words did to my soul" ... ugh, like a lightning bolt right to my heart.

    Wonderful write, as always.

I have just read you other piece "Facials" and the contrast between the two pieces is amazing, there so different, the tones and the mood.

This piece was creative as well though, and still expressive, just totally different, it was deep and strong, heart wrenching and inquisitive.

    awesome girl :)
