Paper Flowers

by Emmanuel Pineda   Nov 10, 2012

Beautiful at first glance,
But to enhance your glance and listen;
Hear a beauty fade away
And true colors show and glisten.

Color dims and future grims
To a beauty seductive and false.
A flower that needs no April shower
Or the winds romantic waltz.

Petals so fair and longs to bare
A mans gentle touch,
But waits for a day to cut his hand
And hurt this man so much.

A pain to grieve but taken to leave
These flowers cold and torn.
To trade his cuts and find out what's
The prick of a roses thorn.
