So Much For Nothing

by MyHalozChokinMe   Nov 11, 2012

Enclose me in your most vivid terror-
Swallow swiftly the texture surrounding
your senses. Describe the burn of
misfortunes and tragedies.

Empty shrugs of coalescence.

The tight grip of demise shrouding a rainy
surface, washing away all the time spent
thinking about nonsense.

Selfish and useless against our own nature,
years spent calculating the infection of
human beings, beatings in dark rooms
from icy stares.

The New Renaissance of our helpless age-
People led to the sound of the gas pump,
trading in their dreams for tiny packages.

A ribbon choking the neck of America.

Small words and uncontrollable denial.

Numb my eyes so they don't see your news,
it hurts to reveal the monster before it sleeps.

Pale moonlight slithering into all your homes,
taking your 401 K and blowing it on the
health care thieves.

Frail as the need to continue living-

So much for nothing today.

Powerful Cara. Utterly truthful as well. I loved how you started this out, the first two lines were perfect. Great job :)
