Against The World

by Taylor   Nov 12, 2012

It was you and me against the world
Fighting side by side, till death do we part
You were mine, you had my heart
Until you changed your mind
I became the burden
I became the mistake
I became the regret that you remind yourself you've made
And now I've become nothing
Your hand let go of mine
Threw me to the side
You watched me fight for you, I destroyed my own pride
And I kept on fighting
Your thoughts declared the end
You saw the tears in my eyes
You knew you were going to make me cry
And you turned me away like the trash that I was
I guess I don't exist anymore
You've shut me into the dark
Your fingers put out the spark
It's done

This has a lot of emotion in it. It is easy to relate to and those emotions really connect with the reader. That's always good. Very good.

I like the rhyme within the poem, makes it seem almost like a song. Maybe it is. It flows really well too.

    Nicely written.
