Twilight

by X Harlea X   Nov 13, 2012

Standing on the beach during twilight
next to you, the setting just right.
Listening to the waves crash on the sand,
as we stand together holding each others hand.

We walk along leaving foot prints behind.
It isn't long before we lose track of time.
Locked eyes make us lost and blind,
heartbeats arise and continue to climb.

Time stops as our lips meet,
the setting sun makes it romantically sweet.
Firey passion of our love breeds light,
as the rising mood takes it's place in the night.

Twilight was the start of our romantic evening,
we are intwined together for its leaving.
Though it's over it won't be a lost memory
because when we are together our hearts are set free.

So its no secret im a sucker for the odd love poem here and there....and i looooove this one :)

You used some great imagery here and the vocabulary you use is really effective.....buuut...the rhyming scheme you use is really great it helps the whole piece flow and roll off the tongue, i like this piece read aloud ( i always read a piece once to myself and then once aloud) it has a great feeling when read this way :)

Really nice piece here Harlea, I enjoyed reading this, the flow was relatively smooth and I thought the rhymes were well incorporated without seeming too forced...the imagery was really gentle and sweet,

    I enjoyed reading this piece.

It's so weird how I really really dislike rhyming poems, but I have no problem reading yours. You can phrase the poem to not sound cliche' , your rhymes don't sound forced, your wording is always twisted into pure awesomeness, and youre still able to give me a sense of image and love with it...

beautiful poem girl, now I need to know who you are writing about :P
