Like A Candle

by NineteenMinutes   Nov 15, 2012

Like a candle I was moulded, shaped, decorated and made unique,
The wick being lit at birth with my first breath, the beginning,
The smoke being the memories that will remain behind after I'm gone.

Other candles will be lit by my flame,
My glow will illuminate darkness for others,
While breif, my light shall guide and direct.
Like a candle a small gust of wind shall end my existance, my burn,
I shall be a memory like many before.

Yet I feel no sadness as I shall of lived,
Laughed, loved and celebrated the simple beauty of life.

Although life is breif and fragile
Eaach one is special,
By being here, no matter how long for
We brighten this Earth
And shine.

Like a candle I was moulded, shaped, decorated and made unique,
I am not eternal but beautiful in my fragility
And I illuminate the darkness.
I feel no sorrow,
For I have lived.
