Waiting For The Grave

by Some Random Human   Nov 15, 2012

Did you hear me when I cried,
I screamed so loud, the day I died,
you turned your back, walked out the door,
my broken heart shattered on the floor,
I guess you don't love me no more,
like you did, the days before,
now the tears in your eyes have all been dried,
and all the truth that I spoke, you assumed I lied,

And I saw your eyes,
in the dark,
lit a spark,
within my heart,
can't take goodbye,
it's way too hard,
just broken shards,
torn apart,

I've still got so much to say,
but you don't care, anyway,
you said, "I don't wanna hear,
another thing from you my dear,
haven't I made it clear,
that I am gone, I'm out of here",
then you left me in dismay,
with those hurtful words stuck on replay,

And I saw your eyes,
in the dark,
lit a spark,
within my heart,
can't take goodbye,
it's way too hard,
just broken shards,
torn apart,

And I saw your eyes,
in the dark,
lit a spark,
within my heart,
can't take goodbye,
it's way too hard,
just broken shards,
torn apart,

And I can't mend it now,
this life just broke me down,
and it's too late to say,
how I feel, you walked away,
so I tried to kneel, but couldn't pray,
didn't have the words, or a soul to save,
'cause you took it all, nothin' left today,
just an empty shell waiting for the grave...
