The Truth of Love

by Craig Rose   Nov 16, 2012

When one heart succumbs to another,
When two halves become one whole,
When one falls into the arms of a lover,
Then one shall discover within their soul,
A deeper desire to do what is right,
And more will and strength and zeal to fight,
Then any could have imagined possible,
A fire lit, but still docile,
And happiness beyond all belief,
Like finding upon a tree,
A single golden leaf,
That falls gently to the ground,
Making not a single sound,
But blooming forth into a ray of light,
On which two souls would then take flight,
To a land where worries could never exist,
And with the purity of a truthful kiss,
The light surrenders into a mist
Of passion and honest concern and care,
From whence emerges a swirling air,
Containing something more then rare,
And it is there,
Yes, there,
That we find what was once a pair,
Ensnared,
Intertwined,
Into something so Devine,
So rare,
That the mere mention of this affair,
Has driven men's existence to tear,
But the only difference I see here,
Is that you and I,
Are already there ,
So fret not,
Sweet angel,
With eyes so beautiful and bright,
For as I say to you this goodnight,
I leave you with the thoughts of love,
Of you and I and the stars above,
And know that the feeling I describe,
Is that of my heart, my soul, and my life.
You, Jennifer, my wife.
