Ones and Zeros

Across miles of glass,
bits and bytes of
thoughts and feelings,
anticipating their
destination, transforming
binary to synaptic,
synaptic to binary,
forming comprehension
and understanding-
Beyond our
virtual reality,
we connect.

    Across miles of glass

^ The first thought that struck me was fiber optic cables.

    bits and bytes

^ There is a difference between the two. Bits, is 1's and 0's. And 1 Byte = bits.

    thoughts and feelings,
    anticipating their
    destination

^ While one confabulates virtually, the data is converted into bits and broken down into packets, which travels across the web via routing protocols.

    transforming
    binary to synaptic,
    synaptic to binary,

^ The conversion of binary data to front end user interface, that is the application one uses. And vice verse.

    forming comprehension
    and understanding-

^ The conversation of the binary bits into synaptic, understandable information.

Over all, a lovely poem about virtual friendship. And the author is trying to convey, that even though they are connected via the virtual reality, his/her friendship with his/her friends is equivalent to that of an actual physical friendship. The sentiment weigh the same.

    Very well written.

Love this write, you get a real sense of distance and yet closeness really well with so few words....and i love the use of binary in this piece which obviously lends perfectly to your title.....or vice versa.......i love the nerd in you xx
