Words, yet sweet, still words

by Jerremy Newsome   Nov 18, 2012

It has been spoken, better to have love than lost) than never to have loved
As eloquently as one would utter the line, compared to the flight of a dove

Harmless it seems but piecing the soul
The depths, the proportions, massively moved the spirit to lull

As thoughts do perish like the winter frost
Ones love should only gain and never lost

Compare the to a summers day, has been spoken in the past
Unfortunately too, these days tend not to last

It is the love in which I thought I knew
Those four letters tremble on thine lips as the morning dew

To understand it is to never know it; said she
How could I, pretentious and haughty I seem to be

If not love then what is it?
Notice how self assuming! How presumptuous the mark. Beaten by my own logic and wit

The very question is self assuming, so sure and non contrite
I beg of it to falter from my life and never be right

The indecision looms, a lion waiting for prey
I'll say this now, therefore never take away

I will know love) that I will find and keep
These words have been written but you have not heard me speak

The compass of my heart you will cherish, so as not to lose the way
I've completed the first task, the mission most will say

Her hand I will hold and her secrets I will keep
As my love, cherish the river you will swim in, it's waters, oh so deep
