Soften

by Yakari Gabriel   Nov 21, 2012

I wonder if when
you read me,
that voice inside
your head softens
and lowers down, like
the eyelids of someone
who's in love

I wonder, if you wonder
like me, if you stare
at my words, and feel
everything inside you,
move, and sink, and tremble-

because I, I soften
when I read you, beauty.

I look at your words,
and cease to believe
that there's a heart out there
composing these metaphors,
and opening her soul for me
to read as if I had
permission to know everything
there is to know about it

are you thankful to me,
for trusting you with my
secrets too, beauty?

because, when I read you,
everything inside me changes
and I wonder if I am, half
as beautiful to you, as
you and your words are to me.

honestly,
I don't really know who
you are, or where you come
from.

all I know is,

you make me want to write.

I adore this....and let me answer you....

Your words do exactly to me as mine do to you!...you're just as beautiful and I wonder the same things you wonder when reading your poetry...so amazing how we can fall in love with a person through the words......and even though we get on each others nerves, I do love you and find beauty in you everywhere.

Such a sweet dedication Yaki, I really appreciate your support. You're so divine :)
