Floridian

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 22, 2012

Panoramic irises
love like landscapes
trying to see,
when they can't
possibly sleep.

She is
the cliff, a drop
of ocean blue,
heaven's guiding
light.

From the East
she prays,
setting cities
and filling footprints
with shadows.

To be close?
She must stay,
writing temperatures
to wish upon
destiny.

The realization
is as twilight breaks.
She can never go
but she will carry
away her heart,

sending for
one who loves.

* trying a different form here with having the lines have shorter words. Thanks for reading!
