My Death

by frozen rose   Nov 23, 2012

The water is rising around me
I'm stuck in the middle of it all
Chaos and confusion break free
Farther down I fall

The water fills my lungs
I'm thrown against the waves
Tossed around and hung
Off the edge where I can't be saved

I scream for anyone near
But no sound escapes my lips
Now my fate is clear
As my hands start to slip

Death is punishment for my sins
I feel the wrath of a thousand lives
That I have killed, resting within
Now they have control of my life

Waves slam against my face
Burning and stinging my eyes
My existence will soon be erased
Cut short by all my lies

I try to climb up to the surface
But I'm pushed back down
To end my life is their purpose
To suffocate me and make me drown

"Leave me alone," I shout through coughs
"Forgive me for what I've done!"
But they don't listen and drag me off
Justice for my crimes have won

The dark, unforgiving water consumes me
I try to take in a breath
I'm taken away by the evil sea
This is the end, my death

I love this poem as well. The rhyming was fantastic and the flow and imagery was great too. I can imagine the water as depression I dont know if uou meant it that way but depression is drowning and traps us with no where to go so I love the metaphor there. I love all your poems as they are relatable to me. 5

The imagery here is perfect. I could actually imagine it all. your poems are great. keep it up. I love reading them. it sucks when things get worse and you feel like there is no way out and nothing you can do to fix it.
