Wow!! I love this poem!! I just love how you told this story in this poem... I really connected with this poem and felt every emotion you expressed.

"in the presence of your vulnerability
I surrendered the fragility in me only
to be your shoulder to lean on."

^^ I really love this... the description of vulnerability and how you surrender to your fragile part was so well-written...

'"If only" and "I wish" were always in my
mind, prior to every thought I had about
you. I never wanted to be carrying the
initials of your past, to be a deja vu of
what love once meant to you.'

^^ Wow I love this stanza.. I really could relate to this part in terms of the 'if only' and 'I wish" parts. I think everyone can relate to that.

"But it wasn't me who picked you, it wasn't
my choice to let you carve your initials
with mine. It was always my damn heart."

^^ Love this part! I love how you refer to your 'damn heart' ... as though you're angry with your heart for choosing the wrong person. Amazing.

I also love the twist at the end... it's as though you've finally found closure and have been able to move on. It was a nice ending.

By the way hon, I noticed a typo:

"was so scored of losing the track of the" >> I'm sure you meant scared here :)

I really enjoyed this poem! Great job!

Oh this was an inspirational piece... You had me from stanza to stanza... feeling the heart ache and the love you once had... and then you smacked me at the end... I do love the dropping dot format... it gives the poem the intensity of the ending stanza!

    This was beautiful!

This seemed to have been a long journey that reached its final road. Though, I know it's sad, I can't help but feel at ease that there came something good from it. The realization and also enlightenment to move to a better road. May be not yet but when the time comes.
the good news that you have finally found your smile again.
