Kairos

It was just today that I realized the power of a dream.

REWIND:

I, in my customary peculiarity, had been perplexed by
this recurring scene, the one with the flower in my hair.

You, found immense pleasure in my displeasure.
(I can still hear your playful, mocking laugh.)

FAST FORWARD:

Comfortably chatting on a Saturday afternoon, I asked
a relatively innocent question. Your response, shattered
the last clinging remnants of my tough exterior.

PAUSE:

And the wheels of my mind started turning.

My heart momentarily forgot to beat.

CULMINATION:

I understood the symbolism here, the knowledge
imparted on me as a child, but forgotten.

This fragile bloom represents:

The immortality of love.

FADE TO BLACK:

A faint memory dances through my mind-

My Obaasan, combing her hair with the comb made
of jade, adorned with the same inflorescence...

Teaching, instilling in me, my heritage, the tradition of
placing this perennial on the side of your body that
matches the rhythm of your beating heart, an
honorable gesture of consecration, showing
the world that you are taken-

FADE IN:

"She tucks the white hibiscus behind her left ear and
gracefully makes her way across the Old Moon Bridge...

To where you are."

There's a lot of love in this piece but its all different kinds of love...

    Very moving...

I'm kinda just sat here with my coffee string @.@, with the images moving through my head like a projector.

I honestly don't know what to say...
I'm just very moved by it.

    Beautiful pen :)
