Over the years I have drifted
in and out
of hating myself for loving you
and loving you.

Over the years I have gone between:
moving on, letting go,
trying to forget
the unforgettable.

Over the years I have tried both
to tell myself you were happy
and to tell myself I was happy
with being apart

Over the years I have failed
in everything I've done
to try and keep you
from my mind.

Now I have discovered
after all these years have past
the impossibility
of not loving you.
