Bonfire

by Edgar Jones   Nov 27, 2012

The darkness of the night
Coupled with a bonfire so bright
Only gave way to etching cracks
Recollecting intense flashbacks
The walls I hoisted grew weak
My lips quivered, wanting to speak
I couldn't help but cry inside
After the smoldering fire died
My eyes glazed over with pain
Despair throbbing through my veins
Blistering wind giving me the chills
Cluster of stars making it surreal
Circumstance accelerating my fall
Containment, resisting with my all
Tonight, I might bid you farewell
Hoping tomorrow you'd miss me as well
