Autum's Song

by Magdeline   Nov 28, 2012

Amid the trees of autumn's fall
The blazing red of fire's wall
The people gaze up one and all
No words can sum collected awe

Looking up into the beauty
Crying feels like it's our a duty
To the song bird gently sleeping
And all the world is silent

Among the many are the few
Who will wake till winter's cue
Till the lullaby begins
And the fire dies again

To wake only on the day
When the springtime comes to say
The green has come, but not to stay
Though for now it's time to play

And on the day that comes along
The fire we have come to love
Is the day that starts anew
This poem's solemn autumn song
