Try to stop

by Magdeline   Nov 28, 2012

Futile is my trials
I've traveled too many miles
I've fallen too hard
My heart broken in shards

I've convinced myself
You are a friend
I've told myself
Again and Again

But every time
I tell myself that
I know that I'm lying
Just like a rat

But it works for a while
I advert my eyes
From your face
Though my heart, it cries

I can't keep it up long
And soon I've fallen
Shamelessly staring
My attention you've stolen

Of course as I stare
I can't meet your gaze
And my courage has fallen
Left to the blaze

I move my attention
To a bird passing the window
As it soars though the clouds
A blush is beginning

I'll love him forever
But never admit it
I know it's not clever
But my courage has failed

I'll try to stop,
This shameful heart
I should have stopped it
Before its start
